Airman 3400 - A Watchmaker’s Perspective

The Airman 3400 was never designed to impress at first glance.
It was designed to perform without hesitation.

When we began working on this collection, we looked back at cockpit instruments from the early 1960s not as inspiration for style, but as tools built for survival. In aviation, a pilot doesn’t have time to interpret a dial. Time must be read instantly, without distraction.

That principle became our foundation.

The Design Philosophy

Every element of the Airman 3400 follows a single rule:
clarity over decoration.

The dial was constructed in layers, echoing the depth of vintage cockpit gauges. The contrast between the matte black background and bold white luminous numerals ensures immediate legibility day or night.

Where Pilot Meets Field

While rooted in aviation, the Airman 3400 was intentionally designed to go beyond the traditional pilot watch.

We wanted a watch that carries cockpit DNA, yet wears with the versatility of a field watch. The more compact proportions and clean layout make it suitable for everyday use.

Built Like an Instrument

We approached the case the same way aircraft instruments were engineered:
robust, precise, and dependable.

The brushed finish minimizes reflections, while the construction ensures durability in demanding conditions.

The Heart of Precision

Inside, we chose the Seiko VH31 mecha-quartz movement deliberately.

It offers the smooth sweep of a mechanical second hand, combined with the accuracy and reliability of quartz built for daily use without compromise.

Visibility Above All

In a cockpit, light is unpredictable. Reflections can be blinding.

That’s why we selected sapphire crystal with anti-reflective properties to maintain clarity in all conditions.

• Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal
• High-temperature crystallized aluminum oxide
• Anti-reflective for improved visibility

Designed for Real Use

Every component was chosen with adaptability in mind whether in motion, in the air, or on the ground.
